We are pleased that Dr. Michael Haykin, who is a professor of church history at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Heritage Theological Seminary, and Toronto Baptist Seminary, will be coming to Faithway to give two lectures on early Baptist theology. These lectures are meant to be a companion to our Shepherds Fellowship this year, providing background on the Baptist Confession we will be going through, but everyone is encouraged to come. A good knowledge of church history is invaluable not just for knowing how God has been faithful to His church, but understanding the history of our own theological distinctives, and how early Baptists arrived at the convictions that we still recognize in God's Word. This will help us to stand on, defend, and also grow in maturity according to that truth in God's Word.
